Stinky Feet

THE PROBLEM:

Feet need to ‘breathe’ and maintain a healthy temperature with air exchange in any shoe, but with standard slippers this seems to be even more of a problem.

Whether they are cheap slippers from the local market or expensive items from a high class retail shoe shop, the use of modern synthetic materials traps and holds the perspiration from our feet within the slipper, which in a short space of time becomes seriously smelly !!!

It’s a simple fact of life that all our feet sweat and the slipper becomes more and more STINKY until in desperation we throw the foul smelling objects reluctantly in the bin after a very short time and have to buy yet another pair !!!

Whether you have a medical foot problem, or just ‘normal feet’ that smell a bit after a while, the same odour problem occurs.

THE TECHNICAL BIT:

Stinky feet starts with sweaty feet which is not nice for you or others around you. Your feet normally get damp and if you are wearing socks and they get damp and sweaty constantly, then you may have hyperhidrosis, which is the medical term for excessive sweating.

Your feet have approximately a quarter of a million sweat glands, and the resulting bacteria that thrive in your socks and also in the synthetic materials of normal slippers, cause the unpleasant odour.

The sweat itself doesn't actually smell, but when it makes your slippers, shoes and socks warm and damp, the bacteria trapped inside start to feed on it. They then excrete an organic acid that gives off that horrible stinky smell !!!

PROBLEM SOLVED:

Of course, if you have a medical condition with your feet then this is another factor.
